The first step in getting a website is to
decide on and register the name of your website
address (www.mycompany.com). The domain name
is the web address that your visitors will
use to access your new website. You may choose
to use your business name or a marketing
term or any phrase that will work best with
identifying your company or product.

With millions of names already registered
and in use on the web, you will need to find
out if your domain name of choice is available.
Once you decide on an available domain name,
the name will need to be registered with
a registrar. The average cost for domain
name registration is $12.00 to $20.00 per
year, dependent upon the registrar you choose
and the length of time you contract to own
that name.
